Inside the workshop

Seven steps, none of them rushed

  1. 01

    Step 1. Collection

We collect your rug on the agreed date, in Polanco, Las Lomas, Interlomas and the west of the city, at no extra cost. We roll it with care, never folded, and give you its tracking code.

  2. 02

    Step 2. Diagnosis and photography

On arrival at the workshop, the master inspects fiber, dyes, foundation, fringes and edges. We photograph front and back, record every detail and share the diagnosis with you before any work begins.

  3. 03

    Step 3. Deep dusting

We remove the dust and grit that settle deep in the foundation and wear the fiber down with every footstep. It is the step most often skipped, and the one that most protects the life of a rug.

  4. 04

    Step 4. Washing

Wool pieces go through our industrial automatic washer, with abundant water and neutral detergents. Silk and delicate pieces are washed by hand, by the master, with the time each one asks for.

  5. 05

Step 5. Centrifuge and controlled drying

The industrial centrifuge removes water evenly, without twisting or stretching the weave. The rug then dries laid flat in a controlled environment, to prevent odors, shrinkage and dye bleeding.

  6. 06

Step 6. Restoration and the master's review

If the diagnosis called for it and you approved it, the master repairs fringes, edges and weave with wool and technique true to the piece. Before leaving, every rug receives a final review, inch by inch.

  7. 07

Step 7. Wrapped and sealed delivery

We photograph the finished piece, roll it, wrap it and seal it. We deliver it to your home on the agreed date, ready to return to its place, with the photographic record of arrival and delivery.

Clean water, a master's hand

We wash the fibre, not just the surface.

Water runs through the whole knot and carries away dust no vacuum can reach. Then the centrifuge removes moisture without straining the weave.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

All questions
What kinds of pieces do you care for?

Hand knotted Persian and oriental rugs, kilims, modern wool and silk rugs, and fine textiles such as tapestries and kilim cushions. Every piece is diagnosed before we choose a washing method. If you have an unusual piece, send us photographs on WhatsApp and the master will tell you honestly whether we can care for it, and how.

How is the service quoted?

Send us two photographs on WhatsApp, one of the front and one of the back, with the approximate size and your neighborhood. With that, the master identifies the type of piece, its condition and the work it needs, and we send you a written quote. If we find anything different once it reaches the workshop, we tell you before proceeding.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer and card payment, and confirm the current options together with your quote. We issue an invoice if you need one. Deposit and final payment terms are agreed in writing before collection, so you know from the start what is paid and when, with no surprises at delivery.

What if my rug is badly damaged?

The master examines it carefully and explains what can be recovered, what should be stabilized so the damage does not spread, and what is not worth touching. We share photographs and options in writing, and you decide. We never restore without your approval, and we will tell you plainly if a repair is not justified.

How long does the service take?

It depends on the piece, the work it needs and the season. Controlled drying cannot be rushed, and a restoration takes longer than a wash. When we quote, we confirm a delivery date in writing. During the spring season, from February to April, we suggest booking your date well in advance.

How does rug tracking work?

When we collect your piece, we give you a tracking code that begins with KR. Enter it in the tracking section of this site and you will see which step of the process it is in, from diagnosis to delivery. The arrival and delivery photographs are recorded under the same code.
