Deep rug washing in Mexico City

A fine rug holds dust, grit and residue deep at the base of the knots, where a vacuum cannot reach. Over the years that grit cuts the fibre from within and dulls the colour. A deep wash removes it completely and gives the rug back its natural hand, sheen and weight.

Our workshop is run by masters with more than 40 years of craft in Persian rugs. We work with an industrial automatic rug washer, an industrial centrifuge and controlled drying. Each piece is treated according to its wool, its dyes and its condition. We do not apply one recipe to every rug.

Rug washing with home pickup and delivery

Pickup and delivery are included at no extra cost in Polanco, Lomas de Chapultepec, Bosques de las Lomas, Tecamachalco, Interlomas, Huixquilucan and the west of the city. Our team rolls the rug in your home, protects it for the journey and brings it back ready to lay in place.

When it arrives at the workshop, every rug receives a KR tracking code and is photographed front and back. You know its condition from the first day, and you receive new photographs on the day of delivery. If anything changes along the way, we tell you on WhatsApp.

If the diagnosis finds loose fringes, open edges or a small hole, we show you photographs before doing any additional work. Nothing is repaired without your written approval.

How to request a quote

Send us two photographs on WhatsApp, one of the front and one of the back, together with the approximate size and your colonia. We reply with a clear quote and an estimated delivery date. We are available Sunday to Friday.

Many families schedule their washing in the spring season or before the autumn holidays, when the pickup calendar fills first. We suggest writing ahead of those dates so you can choose the day that suits you.

Process

Step 1. Collection
We collect your rug on the agreed date, in Polanco, Las Lomas, Interlomas and the west of the city, at no extra cost. We roll it with care, never folded, and give you its tracking code.
Step 2. Diagnosis and photography
On arrival at the workshop, the master inspects fiber, dyes, foundation, fringes and edges. We photograph front and back, record every detail and share the diagnosis with you before any work begins.
Step 3. Deep dusting
We remove the dust and grit that settle deep in the foundation and wear the fiber down with every footstep. It is the step most often skipped, and the one that most protects the life of a rug.
Step 4. Washing
Wool pieces go through our industrial automatic washer, with abundant water and neutral detergents. Silk and delicate pieces are washed by hand, by the master, with the time each one asks for.
Step 5. Centrifuge and controlled drying
The industrial centrifuge removes water evenly, without twisting or stretching the weave. The rug then dries laid flat in a controlled environment, to prevent odors, shrinkage and dye bleeding.
Step 6. Restoration and the master's review
If the diagnosis called for it and you approved it, the master repairs fringes, edges and weave with wool and technique true to the piece. Before leaving, every rug receives a final review, inch by inch.
Step 7. Wrapped and sealed delivery
We photograph the finished piece, roll it, wrap it and seal it. We deliver it to your home on the agreed date, ready to return to its place, with the photographic record of arrival and delivery.

Frequently asked questions

How long does washing a rug take?

It usually takes 7 to 12 days from pickup. It depends on the size, how soiled the rug is and how long the wool needs to dry. If the diagnosis finds anything that calls for restoration, we confirm a new date on WhatsApp before starting, with photographs of the detail.

Do you collect the rug from my home?

Yes. Pickup and delivery are included at no extra cost in Polanco, Lomas de Chapultepec, Bosques de las Lomas, Tecamachalco, Interlomas, Huixquilucan and the west of the city. Our team moves the necessary furniture with care, rolls the rug and returns it wrapped and sealed. For other areas, write to us and we will check.

How do I know the condition of my rug during the process?

Every piece receives a KR tracking code when it reaches our workshop. We photograph it front and back on arrival and again before delivery. If anything you should know about appears during washing, we send it to you on WhatsApp with photos and wait for your reply before going further.
